A little more like it...

It's not like Wednesdays win is a cure-all for the 7 games before it, but the boys looked a lot more like they have for most of the season. the 1st wasn't great, but we did get revenge for that last second goal from mondays game with one of our own. Derek Roy scored with 5 seconds left to put us up 3-2. Dan Paille had 2 goals (one empty net) and Campbell had 4 points from the blue line. Scoring all over the board and a power play goal or 2 is how this team has to play to be sucessful. There was a noticable increase in overall hard work in this game from the previous few I have watched. Apparently, Coach Ruff threatened to start benching people if he didn't like their game. Roy, Afinogenov & Vanek had many giveaways a few games ago, but they all had a much better game Wednesday night. They all had a goal (with different linemates) Roy just had one of those killer, under-your-skin games and Max made some classic Afinogenov moves to score his goal. I'd like to start seeing more games like this again...it's been a while. It took until the 3rd period to get the game in the bag, but once that 5th goal went in, I knew it was over. We should be beating teams like Boston and Tampa Bay a bit easier than we have lately. The effort was there and I'm looking forward to them playing like this again Friday night against Vancouver.
